• The participants can register themselves as a team or individually, the team size ranging from 1-3 members. Members of a team must be from the same college. One of the team members should be registered as the team leader during registration, who will submit the entry.

• The entrant(s) must be a student(s) enrolled in Architecture, Engineering, or Design course at an accredited college/. To be eligible for the competition, entrants should be at least 18 years old.

As participants, the students will design a stainless-steel kitchen from scratch. They must plan beautiful, safe, and functional spaces, incorporating creative design statements and aesthetically pleasing design solutions, following the prompt:

The kitchen is the heart of the home, where families and friends gather to cook, dine, and enjoy each other’s company. People have long cherished the joy of cooking and have been eager to bring a gourmet dining experience into their own homes. In recent times, a desire for peace and harmony has emerged, influencing the latest style trends. Your task is to strike the perfect balance between function and style, creating a family-friendly stainless-steel kitchen that will delight all who enter.

• Students are required to design approx. 150 sq. ft kitchen. The openings (doors/windows), ceiling height, etc can be assumed as deemed fit.
• Students are open to selecting the layout and placement of the kitchen cabinetries best suited as per the space mentioned above.
• The core material for designing kitchens should be stainless steel; Other Materials should be either used in scarcity or well justified.
• The participants should send-

         –Technical drawings with plans

         –Section details and design

         –3D Renderings and Visualizations

         –A material and finish board

         –A mood board with images and a material legend/ label for each product

• Design statements should be typed entries (maximum 3,000 characters) to provide background information about their design with:

         –A name for their design and inspiration

         –hypothetical client/target audience

         –objectives and project overview

         –Design Salient features (Hardware /Appliances/ usage/ Accessibility/ problem solving etc.)

• Participants will be provided with a resource book that will include rules and a basic foundation for kitchen design.
• Participants can work in a team of a maximum of 3 Students.

       IMPORTANT INTRODUCTION:

• Entries submitted without a design statement will be disqualified.
• The submission should be a single PDF of a maximum of 10 slides of A3 size and the total size of the PDF should not exceed 20 MB.
• The technical drawings with plans and section details and 3D renders should be in 300 DPI.
• The participants must not include any information related to them (like name, email address, mobile number, college name etc) or any watermark in the design and the PDF being submitted. Such design is liable to be summarily rejected.
• The work must be original; duplicity of work will be rejected.
• No mail-in entries will be accepted.
